B23-0211, the “District of Columbia Public Library Partnership and Sponsorship Amendment Act of 2019”

Councilmember David Grosso announce the scheduling of a public oversight roundtable of the Committee on Education on B23-0211, the “District of Columbia Public Library Partnership and Sponsorship Amendment Act of 2019”. The hearing will be held on Monday, April 22, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., in room 123 of the John A. Wilson Building.
The stated purpose of B23-0211 is to amend An Act to establish and provide maintenance of a free public library and reading room in the District of Columbia to permit the District of Columbia Public Library to promote, endorse, co-sponsor, solicit for, or collaborate with charitable organizations whose sole mission is to support the public library; and to engage in certain revenue-generating activities.

Persons wishing to testify are encouraged, but not required, to submit 10-15 copies of written testimony. Witnesses appearing on his or her own behalf should limit their testimony to three minutes; witnesses representing organizations should limit their testimony to five minutes.
If you are unable to testify at the hearing, written statements are encouraged and will be made a part of the official record.
