Councilmember David Grosso announce the scheduling of a public oversight roundtable of the Committee on Education on The District of Columbia State Athletic Association and the State of School Athletics. The roundtable will be held on Thursday May 30, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., in room 412 of the John A. Wilson Building.

The purpose of this roundtable is to hear issues surrounding school athletics and to review the performance of the District of Columbia State Athletic Association since its establishment in accordance with section 2 of the Confirmation Act of 1978, effective March 3, 1979 (D.C. Law 2-142; D.C. Official Code § 1-523.01), pursuant to section 2 (b) of the District of Columbia State Athletics Consolidation Act of 2016, effective Apr 7, 2017 (D.C. Law 21-263; D.C. Official Code §38–2661.11 (b).

Those who wish to testify may sign-up online at http://bit.do/educationhearings or call the Committee on Education at (202) 724-8061 by 5:00pm on Tuesday, May 28, 2019. Persons wishing to testify are encouraged, but not required, to submit 10-15 copies of written testimony. Witnesses appearing on his or her own behalf should limit their testimony to three minutes; witnesses representing organizations should limit their testimony to five minutes.

If you are unable to testify at the hearing, written statements are encouraged and will be made a part of the official record.
