Councilmember David Grosso announces the scheduling of a public roundtable of the Committee on Education on PR21-723, Public Charter School Board Saba Bireda Confirmation Resolution of 2016, PR21-625, Board of Library Trustees Gregory McCarthy Confirmation Resolution of 2016, and PR21-626, Board of Library Trustees Cleve Mesidor Confirmation Resolution of 2016. The roundtable will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2016 in Hearing Room 123 of the John A. Wilson Building.  

The stated purposed of PR21-723 is to confirm the appointment of Saba Bireda as a member of the Public Charter School Board, replacing Barbara Nophlin, to finished an unexpired term, ending February 24, 2019. The stated purpose of PR21-625 is to confirm the reappointment of Gregory McCarthy as a member of the Board of Library Trustees to serve for a term to end on January 5, 2021. The stated purpose of PR21-626 is to confirm the appointment of Cleve Mesidor as a member of the Board of Library Trustees to serve for a term to end on January 5, 2021.

Those who wish to testify are asked to telephone the Committee on Education, at (202) 724-8061, or email Jess Giles, Committee Assistant, at jgiles@dccouncil.us, and provide their name, address, telephone number, organizational affiliation and title (if any) by close of business Tuesday, May 17.  Persons wishing to testify are encouraged, but not required, to submit 15 copies of written testimony.  Witnesses appearing on his or her own behalf should limit their testimony to three minutes; witnesses representing organizations should limit their testimony to five minutes.  

If you are unable to testify at the hearing, written statements are encouraged and will be made a part of the official record.  Written statements should be submitted to the Committee on Education, Council of the District of Columbia, Suite 116 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20004.  The record will close at 5:00 p.m. on June 2, 2016.
