Issues Facing District of Columbia Youth

Councilmember David Grosso announces the scheduling of a public roundtable of the Committee on Education on youth issues. The roundtable will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 in Hearing Room 500 of the John A. Wilson Building.
The purpose of this roundtable is to hear testimony from District of Columbia youth regarding issues that impact their lives as they make their way through the public education system.
Youth, aged 21 and younger, who wish to testify can sign up online at http://bit.do/educationhearings. Individuals can also email Jessica Giles, Legislative Analyst, at jgiles@dccouncil.us, and provide their name, age, telephone number, school (if applicable), current grade (if applicable), organizational affiliation and title (if any) by close of business Monday, October 31, 2016. Individuals wishing to testify are strongly encouraged, but not required, to submit 15 copies of written testimony. Each person should limit their testimony to three (3) minutes in order to permit each witness an opportunity to testify.
If you are unable to testify at the hearing, written statements are encouraged and will be made a part of the official record. Written statements should be submitted to the Committee on Education, Council of the District of Columbia, Suite 116 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20004. The record will close at 5:00 p.m. on November 16, 2016.
